In the presence of Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a 100-bed Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) hospital in Industrial Town Angul in Odisha on Wednesday.
“The ESIC hospital’s opening intends to boost the state’s health infrastructure by providing inexpensive and high-quality treatment to over three lakh people in the Angul and Dhenkanal districts,” Pradhan added.
Odisha is one of the states with the highest number of employees registered on the e-labor site. According to the report, the e-labor portal is used by 27 crore workers in the country and 1.24 crore workers in Odisha.
Meanwhile, in Jharsuguda, Odisha, a sub-regional office of the Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESIC) was launched on Wednesday.
Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, opened the office remotely from Angul. Suresh Pujari, the Lok Sabha MP from Bargarh, was also present at the occasion in Jharsuguda.
In Jharsuguda and 13 other districts in Western Odisha, the new office would assist 1.75 lakh ESIC members.
