The founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals- Dilip Sanghvi is one of the richest people in India

Dilip Shanghvi’s net worth as of July 26, 2022, was estimated by Forbes to be Rs 1,14,868 crore.

The largest pharmaceutical firm in India, Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd., was founded by Dilip Shanghvi. He awarded the civilian “Padma Shri” honour from the Indian government in 2016.

About 43 production facilities are owned and operated by the corporation and its subsidiaries worldwide. India branded formulations account for 31% of the company’s sales, followed by US formulations (30% of revenue), developing countries (18% of revenue), the rest of the world (ROW) (15%), and API & others (7% of revenue) (6 percent ).

The business is the ninth-largest pharmaceutical firm in the US generic market. The company, which operates under 29 distinct trademarks, is the industry leader in the India branded generic sector with a market share of 8.2 percent. Romania, Russia, South Africa, Brazil, and Mexico are the company’s top emerging market customers. The ROW segment’s key markets are Western Europe, Canada, Japan, Israel, and Australia and New Zealand.

In terms of financials, the company’s 3-year sales and net profit growth rates, which were 10 and 24 percent, respectively, appear promising.

The 10-year number, though, is still respectable at 17 and 10 percent, respectively. The company’s ROE, ROCE, and dividend yield as of the March period ending are 14 percent, 18.4 percent, and 0.81 percent, respectively.

With a market value of Rs 209870 crore, the company’s shares are now trading at a PE multiple of 31.7x. Regarding the ownership structure, the promoters own approximately 54.48 percent of the company, FIIs and DIIs together own 34.61 percent, and non-institutional investors own the remaining 10.91 percent.

The stock price as of July 26 at 11:55 am is Rs 867.15. The stock’s 52-week high and low are both Rs. 967 and Rs. 673.
